What is the ring inside the carbonating bottle flask of my SodaStream Crystal™ Sparkling Water Maker?

There is a ring inside the carbonating bottle flask of your SodaStream Crystal™ Sparkling Water Maker to hold your glass carafe. The ring is removable and can be taken out to clean. Just make sure to insert it back in the center of the flask before carbonating.
